Dhiraagu introduces 10Mbps Home premiere ADSL pakage

Today, I heard from Radio that Dhiraagu has introduced 10Mbps package and that the speed / allowance of all other packages have been doubled. I got curious and I found out that it really is true.

Download speed: 10Mbps
Upload speed: 512Kbps
Free allowance: 20GB
Monthly allowance: 690 bucks ( same as Home unlimited )
Excess usage: 15laari / megabyte

Now this is what I call speed! However I can't conclude that this is for real without some bandwidth tests and benchmarks! Afterall traditional phone lines are used to connect us to the internet. hehehe Happy speedy browsing / downloading!

Enjoy! :D

  2. not bad,.. but not good enough either.. free allowance will be gone in a few days with that speed.. an unlimited package of 4Mbps or even 2Mbps would be great.. or 30GB at 10Mbps will be ok, so that I can download 1GB a day..

  4. Traditional phone lines?? Did you know, ADSL2+ could go upto 20Mbps+ over a 2Km long "traditional" copper wire? You seriously need to read up.

Now your going to say, you doubt the quality of Dhiraagu laid lines, blah blah... no?

    @Anonymous above..
If you get 1GB/day, you'll want 2GB/day. Just saying.

  5. dude can you explain me how this package can be useful, in term of speed and 20GB allowance, do u think i can use this allowance for downloading like a movie for a day or one movie in two days ( including browsing, you tubing, and web cam chat ) without exceeding monthly allowance. please explain your views.

This package, download speed is the real thing. Movies would likely download at a rate of 5mb / sec . most likely ( 30mins - 1 hr ) . So when a movie is downloaded so fast, you would want to download another.

However limiting the movie download every moth like say 10GB movie downloads and rest bandwidth for browsing , You tubing , video chatting and so on... .

You can make use of BANDWIDTH LIMITER so that you don't exceed the bandwidth every month.

My views: 20GB is more than enough if you can manage the bandwidth in regard to 10Mbps speed. :D

  10. well Adsl2+ can have 24 Mbps donwload .and giving 10 Mbps by dhiraagu on copper wire is a big joke! they need to switch to Fibre Optic ! if they wanna achive something new cox they have many Adsl Users.and in Fibre Optic the speed is guranteed and broswing on Fibre Optic will be awesome.and we must note for broswing most of the websites wont have much high upload rate so even if have a great download speed sometimes we wont be satisfied ,cox i think For Browsing any conenction greater than 10 Mbps is worthless unless we are trying to download from sites liek Rapidshare which offers high Bandiwth

  11. Dhiraagu should consider upgrading the unlimited package to atleast 1 Mbps. The new packages are certainly an improvement but I wouldn't consider it a giant leap forward.Internet is so much more expensive than what people in other countries would pay.In Singapore one could get an unlimited 20Mbps connection for about 39 SGD.
