kaspersky is my no:1 Antivirus software. I have used it for many years.Its, I would say the best antivirus solution out there. The main reason why I like kaspersky is because of its cleaning facility. Once a virus has been deleted, it wont come back again like as in Nod32 which I used before using AVP. Just now, I was informed that the 2010 version has been released.

It has a similar GUI as the 2009 version but the interface is better than 2009th version.

Problem with 2010 version: Takes too much memory usage

System requirements:
300 MB free space on the hard drive (the exact number is based on antivirus database size)

Fix for explorer crashing upon thumbnail loading of avi files [xp]

This Error has been occuring to me recently! Whenever I open a folder that has many media files like bleach animes folder, explorer gives the error message on the left and then crashes upon the thumbnail loading.

Here is the fix for that:

1. START> RUN

• type regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll
• Press Enter

2. Success! The following message should popup if it was succcessful.



What the heck that this command did was, disable the media files thumbnails preview.This disabled the thumbnails of all AVI files.

It could be caused by a disinfected explorer.exe file after a virus. When I disinfected explorer.exe file, it happened. Many files dont work after disinfection in kaspersky.

To again enable the thumbnail auto loading of media files use the following command in run dialogue.

regsvr32 shmedia.dll

I hope that was helpful to someone with the same problem as me. There are many other reasons except than this where windows explorer often crashes.

How to block autorun.inf file auto loading in XP/VISTA

Viruses, instead of maiking our lives easier, it makes our lives difficult by damaging our PC etc...

The main road that viruses get to our PC is bu USB devices. Windows by deafault has autorun of these allowed. The autorun file can be set to execute a file on inserting of the drive. The file could be a virus that will infect our PC. So disabling this horrific Autorun file is a must in order to prevent USB viruses.
Stop Run is a PORTABLE and FREE tool to disable the autorun file. IT can also enable the autorun file.

• This is not an antivirus software

• Originally a spanish software, available with english translation by deafault

• Can disable automatic installation of some softwares when CD is inserted

• Disables the autorun file loading in all medias (CD drives, removable drives etc...)

• It does not clean any virus: only stops autorun file from automatically loading.

• You need to login to an administrator account to disable

• Easy and clean interface

Its worth it guys! Since we use USb drives a lot now a days. There are many methods to disable the autorun file auto loading. The basic way is to modify the registry value assigned for it. However I would recommend this as an alternative to many other tools that does the same task. I hope you guys found this tool useful.

Shield your pendrives from viruses with USB WriteProtector

Seriously, nowadays our computers are becoming very vulnerable to viruses.

USB WriteProtector can turn on the Registry value for write protecting removable drives on and off with ease.

Its good if you dont want to mess with your registry to turn on and off write protecting.

Its Free and portable. So you can put it to your thumb drive and use it "on the fly"!

It can deny writing to the drive so the viruses cant create the damn "autorun.inf" file that loads as soon as the Usb is inserted.

If your PC is having a virus, then that virus cant infect your Pendrive with this tool.

There are various tools to protect your thumbdrive or to eliminate pendrive borne viruses. Consider this post I wrote to clean pendrive viruses.

I now have Usb write protected to shield or to protect my Usb from viruses that might be in my PC. There is another tool that I used only once to disable the autorun.inf file loading automatically. But that will be insha allah discussed in another article later.

Happy Birthday to "ÎĦΣçҜәѓ™" Blog [2 years]

Yeah its been 2 years already since I have started blogging. I started in wordpress and then switched to bloggers on June 2007. And this is June 2009. Its been 2 years since I have been blogging.

But this blog is still young and I still need to do a lot of things to make it become mature and professional.

Currently I am extremely busy with the GCSE computer course work and preparing for GCSE examinations. When studying is done for a day, then its almost bed time. and at that time I am really tired and sleepy due to studying. So I cant update my blog or search for an interesting article to be posted. But sometimes when I do the coursework, I get bored and post something to the blog. However there will be a great decrease in posts within the coming months.

I am trying to write a lot of articles after I finish the coursework and schedule them to post in advance. so I wont go too much out of lacking posting. To celebrate I created the graphic above. Some graphics in it are taken from a firefox wallpaper. and the whole animated parts are made by me.

In anyways the thanks for the visitors and readers of this blog by visiting this blog everyday or once a while. I hope I would get the same traffic that I get now , also in future. Also hopes to get even more subscribers.

I am not a person who plays games so much. Thats because I feel like I am wasting my precious time when I am playing games. Making use of a "Magnet " to protect your PC

Stuffs needed:

2. Duct tape
3. Reed switch

Reed switch is the only thing you may not know and the only thing that may cost some.All these tools are supposed to cost less than $4. Its less than RF 60. So I gave it a try and it works. Just do as said in the above video.

The reed switch is an electrical switch operated by an applied magnetic field.Once the magnet is pulled away from the switch, the reed switch will go back to its original position. Pretty cool eh? I hope you guys liked this idea.

Gom media player: The Best media player [ A must to have ]

There are tonnes of media players which can play media files. Most of them are free.

Gom player is now my favourite media player and I claim it as the best media player out there. (well for me and many other people , it is)

This player has an extremely excellent GUI (graphical user interface) which you can customize the skin of the player. In addition this player can play broken media files and files that are downloading.

Main features of this player:

Play Broken AVI Files
AVI files can't be played if the index is broken, or if the file isn't completely downloaded. This is because the index is located at the end of the file. GOM Player's patented technology enables users to view files with broken indexes or that are still being downloaded.

Excellent Subtitle configuration
