Dhivehi Basfoiy (ބަސްފޮތް) Online!!

I have been using the ބަސްފޮތް 2006 software version for some time.

It is built with a right to left interface. and it has a Maldivian like GUI (graphical user interface).

Its got a lot of meaning of words in it and searching also is easy. However its slow.

First of all to load also it takes a lot of time. Where as it needs some older version of .Net framework to run. In addition, the searching is also a little slow because its programed to respond immediately to any letter written in the search box.Thats why it hogs ( takes up ) a lot of RAM capacity.

I have now uninstalled ބަސްފޮތް 2006 from computer and am using online basfoiy provided by the real dudes who actually made ބަސްފޮތްe . (ދިވެހި ބަހާއި ތާރީހަށް ހިދުމަތް ކުރާ ޤައުމީ މަރުކަޒު)

You guys may think I am slow in getting to know about this. But I have known about ބަސްފޮތް online and I felt that writing a post could be a good idea. Also there is Radheef online also.

Shoutbox Detached | Hit Counter added

I introduced, or perhaps attached Shoutbox on March of 2009. and I notified readers about it here.

While the shoutbox was added, I never noticed advertisements loading below it. These annoying ads made the blog load slower than before. I noticed it when I disabled adblock.[A firefox addon used to block ads].

I told in Shoutbox that some upgrades and maintenance will be made this week. And before that was experimental of widgets in the blog.

The shoutbox made the loading of blog the most slowest. Where as Entrecard at the bottom is 2nd in ranking [under sponsors] to make this blog load slower. However, the Entrecard is used to get traffic for sites, so its kept as a sponsor since its proven to give traffic.

The major upgrades for now are:

• Added Hit counter
• Deleted Shoutbox widget
• Removed archives widget
• Initialized subscribe widget
• optimized Entrecard widget to make it faster

And many more upgrades are to take place. Enjoy dudes!

Make a small URL to an Extremely long URL

We all make the Urls short by using Tiny URl, etc... But how about making it extremely (freakingly) large? The idea of making a url short would be easy but how about making it difficult by lengthening it to holy crap! level?
Freaking Huge URL Generator is a website I came across today. I thaught I will give it a shot and my blog address became more than 10 lines when pasted on MS word. If you guys also want to make your URL extremely hughe you can check it out. However it redirects to the original website. Thats the only problem.(means that when on entering huge URL, the real URL appears on address bar) Its because its not a URL hiding service.

• Blocks inappropriate listed sites
• Can build a child with good manners ( obiviously when they get to see bad stuffs they get bad)
• As a special introductory offer, this service is free for 1 month
• gives parents the confidence to let their children explore new horizons
• Low setup charges and monthly fee
• Occupies less memory capacity so Pc is faster compared to URL blocking softwares etc...

DISADVANTAGES of this service:
• URL filtering can make the internet slower
• By using a proxy, the kids can access the blocked sites. [because its a URL filtering]

• Not very effective (the kids have their friends who are suppliers)
• Free parental control softwares are more effective (like kaspersky)

Finally! Semester one exam stuffs: OVER [2009]

Woof! Its finally over and I am back to posting. But this time, I couldn't perform so well in most of the exam papers.

However even thought the exams are over, a coursework has to be done before June 30th. Computing coursework. Its a lot of trouble in one way but if you learn to play access, its a piece of cake. The most frustrating part is that All works has to documented, meaning a lot of writings to be done. In anyways, It will be completed before due dates insha allah.

"Work hard and Party harder" eh? I cant. Not yet. Its just the beginning. And the real exams stuffs is yet to start. So wish me luck for the REAL exams ( cambridge )

Also as a student, I advice all students to get serious in studies. Only sacrifice entertainment for 2 months. No biggie right? And the outcome of the 2 months is "MORE PARTY" :-)

Exams Ongoing! Lack of posts ongoing!

Hi Everyone! Its been sometime since I have written something eh? As you have read in heading, I am undergoing 1st term exams of this year!

It is going to end at 27th May.

Reload your Dhiraagu prepaid without telling Your Mobile Number

Its been an year or so that I wrote this post when dhiraagu first introduced reload service. A new addition to this service has been released where you need not tell your prepaid mobile number but instead tell your subscribed Reload ID.

Here is how to setup your Reload ID: (I am sorry that I cant post screenshots or videos here since my phone is stolen

1. start a new text message
2. Dont write any messages
3. Just simply send the blank message to 201
4. Then you will receive a text message from dhiraagu containing your dhiraagu Reload ID
5. No need to panic if ID lost - you can always use your own mobile number to reload or request for ID again
6. You can use the Reload ID on any retail shop that offers reloading service.
7. Now you are done!
